It’s been a big year.

What started with half the country on fire, proceeded with an ongoing pandemic (this slow apocalypse) that has changed the way we do things forever.

For the education sector, much has been learnt in the response to COVID-19. A rapid move to online teaching and learning was just the beginning. From student welfare to innovation in the way learning is delivered, teaching and professional staff have risen to the challenges and designed their way through the complicated morass of issues. There have also been continuing examples of excellence that define a university such as RMIT.

Claire Macken (Deputy pro Vice Chancellor, College of Business and Law) asked in her foreword: ‘What is the future of higher learning?’. Some answers to this question can be found within this publication.
