Celebrating excellence in Learning and Teaching in the College of Business
The College of Business, Learning and Teaching awards recognises the achievements of outstanding academic staff. There are six categories, aligned with the RMIT values. Nominations open soon for outstanding educators who display passion, imagination, agility, courage, impact, and inclusion in their Learning and Teaching practice! The award winners will be celebrated at the College of Business Awards on November the 6th, at Storey Hall.
Learning and Teaching award categories
Impact
Impact is achieved through an applied, practice-based approach that utilises collaborative design, research, learning and/or problem-solving.
Passion
Creates inspiring and collaborative learning experiences, deeply committed to producing positive learning outcomes for all.
Inclusion
Creates opportunities that honour diversity of knowledge and background, leveraging differences to create dynamic and inclusive learning experiences
Courage
Embraces new thinking and evidence, applying authentic learning strategies and assessment for meaningful learning experiences that develop work-ready students.
Agility
Takes a forward-looking, adaptive and/or sustainable approach to learning and teaching, embracing change as opportunity
Imagination
Open to nominations from students, for educators who “embrace innovation and creativity to enhance course design, assessment and/or learning opportunities, and engage students in imaginative ways, encouraging them to take ownership of their own learning
Student Nominated Imagination Award
Students (either individually or in a group) can nominate an educator who they feel: “embraces innovation and creativity to enhance course design, assessment and/or learning opportunities; and engages students in imaginative ways, encouraging them to take ownership of their own learning”.
How do I nominate my lecturer/teacher?
- Write a short statement (maximum 500 words) explaining why your lecturer/teacher deserves to win the Imagination Award for 2019.
- Collect any evidence that you feel supports your nomination (perhaps you have some examples of things you completed or created in class, a photograph, video or other documentation that shows how the educator engages and inspires you/your class?) Alternatively, you might find that other students agree with your nomination and want to endorse it themselves – ask them to write a couple of sentences explaining why they agree with your nomination and provide their name/s, student email/s and student number/s (this information can be attached in a Word doc).
- Fill out the online nomination form and upload any additional supporting documentation. Note: only the written statement is compulsory (attaching evidence is recommended but not mandatory).
Come together with the College of Business on November the 6th, celebrate the hard work of 2019 and excellence in peers at the College of Business Awards Ceremony.
