Ensure this is ticked before closing the window.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;When I share my screen, the image repeats.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Using the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2018<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">share screen\/application &gt; share entire screen<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2019<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> option<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">whilst already <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">in Collaborate Ultra means that the screen will repeat itself infinitely<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">If on a single screen set-up, you are just infinitely sharing your screen to itself, which results in the image you are seeing.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You can use<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">two screens to deliver your session <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to get around this<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Share from the screen where your Collaborate Ultra is NOT displayed. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If you do not have two screens, instead of <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2018<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">share screen\/application<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2019<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> &gt; share screen option<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> use the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2018<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">share files<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2019<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> option.<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">Image files, PDFs, and PowerPoint presentations can be shared directly from your file browser (these are the only supported file types).\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Chrome<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> users<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If you<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">use excel for live formulas, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">y<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ou will need to use <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2018<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">share application<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2019<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Go <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">share screen\/application &gt; share application &gt; select Excel. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In Chrome there is also a share tab available.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><em>Note:<\/em> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Firefox does not support share application or share tab functionality.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;The sound quality is poor and I\u2019m having a hard time hearing and speaking with my students.&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If using a Windows machine, please ensure you are using an external mic where possible. Check the input<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> device that is selected from your system settings (windows menu &gt; system settings &gt; Sound)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Also check the volume from the bottom right of your computer.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;I am getting sound feedback during the session.&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As a rule,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> participants<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> should have their microphones turned off by<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> default unless speaking<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Moderators should enforce this at the beginning of <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a session<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> either by requesting everyone to turn off their mics or<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">by doing it for them<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;I asked my students to download a file, but they are getting an error screen.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The server won&#8217;t cope with an overload of<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> simultaneous<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> requests to download. Instead, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">upload<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the files <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">(e.g. the week\u2019s learning materials) <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">in<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Canvas<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> allow<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ing<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">students<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">to access<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> them<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> prior to the lesson and to prevent simultaneous <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">download <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">r<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">equests.<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">If you <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">want them to access a document only at the time of the class <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">i.e.<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">or an activity \u2013 consider sharing it on your screen instead.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;I want to set up Polling before the class begins so I don&#8217;t have to do it on the fly.&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Polling can be set up prior to the class beginning. As a rule, only have open what you need to run your session.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Use text effectively<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 instead of verbal discussions requiring camera and mic, use your chat and comment functions within your chosen software. This option uses less bandwidth.<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Send-out materials prior\/post session<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 spreadsheets, slides or other resources \u2013 should be sent out before or after to minimise issues.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Consider recording sessions<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 Does your session absolutely need to be live? If not, consider pre-recording and then coupling with a drop-in session where students can book a time slot.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Have a back-up facilitator<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 this is especially important if you have known internet connectivity issues in your area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&#8220;What do I do if I experience connectivity issues during my live session?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Limit the number of people on mic and camera <\/strong><\/em>\u2013 in extreme cases, turn off all cameras including the moderator if it is possible (sometimes it might not be if you are doing live demonstrations).<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Hand over to your back up facilitator<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 if this is an option and their connectivity is better than yours at that given time.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Hotspot or dial in from a phone<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 if all else fails, use a hotspot from your mobile or dial in if this is an option.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Collaborate Ultra:<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Collaborate ultra has an option to check the connectivity.
